A World Without Sun :(

So the scorching Spanish straight-into-summer weather arrived yesterday, giving me a headstart on destroying my skin. Hannah and I rejoiced muchly, until today proved to be sodden, grey and freezing. Pah.

I've mooched around the house all day, looking at flats with Han (that's an entire entry in itself) and cooking and shizz. Except now I'm not hungry, I feel that apathetic. The only remedy was some Wikipedia vandalising, which admittedly lifted my spirits somewhat before I went to Youtube for some good weepy music.

One of my very, very favourite songs is A World Without Love, written by Lennon and McCartney and given to Peter & Gordon to sing. It's such a beautiful, melancholy song with a tender refrain. Bonus points for the sad Alsatian in the video, which made me love it as a child. I love listening to cover versions of my favourite songs and will hunt down as many versions as possible. This one yields awesome covers such as those by guys in their basements to The Beatles to Vonda Shepherd. Love, love, love.

Except, inevitably, this version. It sounds like such a show tune and so insincere. DUNT MOCK MY MELANCHOLY, you. >:

ETA: No, there is always someone worse on Youtube.

This is for you. Take the survey about behaviour in the sun. Doooooooooo it.

I quite like that song, too, and I liked it from an early age (it was probably on a Heartbeat soundtrack), and then my father pointed out what a cynical and anti-social song it was and I was all, "oh". But I am/I became a cynical person so it all worked out in the end.

One time I maybe wrote a Hanson fanfic allegedly and maybe in it Taylor left the band for a solo career and it's possible that on his first solo album I had him cover this song because hypothetically his squeaky voice would be awesome at it. BUT THAT DIDN'T REALLY HAPPEN. EVER.

LOL I don't even have the files anymore. They *might* be on the backup CDs that my family just sent but even so, who wants to read boring and rubbish fanfic that I wrote when I was 16?! (It used to be on teh internets but I can't remember what the URL used to be and it's not coming up on Google so I guess it's gawn.)

Me. I want to read boring rubbish.

Then pick up an Anne Rice book. OH SNAP!

LMAO! As soon as she writes it.

I took the survey, which was pretty uncomfortable, to be honest. Point taken, that Spanna.

HOWEVER. I will not wear a big hat, skin people! :(

I want to read that fic so, so badly. Like, send it? Plz?

The song itself is cynical, so I guess there's very little surprise to us both liking it.

Hats are so important! No hats will get you a nose full of skin cancer.

It goes like this, right:

SLIP! SLOP! SLAP!
Slip on a shirt
Slop on sunscreen
and Slap on a hat
SLIP! SLOP! SLAP! TA-DA!
If you're going in the sun today...
SLIP! SLOP! SLAP!

:D

And you don't want to read that fic, you're all mad. Hanfic is never a pretty sight.

P.S. I just slathered myself in coconut oil moisturiser with an SPF of 15. Okay, 15 is rubbish on my skin and at night, but it made me feel better?

No. She'll be silky smooth in the morning and won't get moonburn.

I have no idea why I'm so rambly today.

LOLZ my friend from high school whom I no longer speak to used to say we had moontans because of our lily white skin.

Why have I not finished my essay yet?
