Yes. Even if it was something horrible, something to fear for the rest of my life, I'd prefer knowing instead of what I currently do: agonising over 'what if' at 4am most mornings.

Hmm I didn't realise people did the 4am thing. You're an atheist, right? I wonder if people with faith don't have the 4am thing?

why think about it at all? there is a saying, its not about the destination its about the journey.

i think physics is far more interesting to dwell on than theology. To think about loads of different Penny's who may be out there living when i kick the bucket, so in some ways i never die. My energy is absorbed by my other selfs.

I agree. Uncertainty is the worst thing... it's hard to come to terms with something when you don't know what it actually is.
