Ha! Made me laugh because it's just so true. The little giddy fit in the NY Times about how *gasp* 33% of current young adult novels feature female protagonists means it's gotten "too girly" is my favorite recent example.

It's absurd, absolutely absurd! Not only is 33% laughably low, but it's actually a ~problem for switching from the male default.

And people even dare to suggest that male privilege doesn't exist. The mind boggles.

Oh I know. I was just like "Seriously? Books are too girly now? And yet to this day female authors use their initials to avoid scaring off male readers. WHAT?
