Time to get out of those wet clothes and into a dry martini!
Yeah, wet + cold is exhausting. I hope they'll figure out what's going on with your dad quickly, and have him feeling better.
Aww, shelter dogs are so awesome. I loved taking care of the dogs at the animal shelter. Once they had a rail-thin, obviously abused German shepherd. She was so anxious all the time that when I'd take her out for a walk, she'd constantly try to hide between my legs. But I helped her acclimate to the world a little, and I also taught her to walk on stairs, which she had no clue about and was afraid to try. (So sad, she must have been 2 yrs old, and didn't know how to walk on stairs. Like even a couple steps. I don't even want to think about how she'd been living before that. ;_; )
