You know that there's something weird when you go into your first day of work in a new job, and, by 10am, you've somehow become embroiled in an argument between two of your managers.

Manager one: Hello... I need you to send some e-mails for me.
Becky: No problem! *Eager smile*
Manager one: I'll just leave this tape for you.
Becky: *Runs tape*
Audio thing: "Please send an e-mail to [Manager 2] asking him why he felt it justified to authorise this validation
when it's against company policy. Ask him to send the explanation to my e-mail address."
Becky: Um...okay.
Manager 2: Sends reply to me. I do not recall authorising anything.
Becky: Um...
Audio thing: Now please ask him to finish off this letter, and tell him it needs doing now. Underline now. Bold it!
Becky: Umm.... *sends e-mail*
Manager 2: THIS WAS DONE.
Becky: Waaaah! Convinced that am going to be asked to fetch some invisible ink, or elf shoes next...
Audio thing: Could you please ask Manager 2 to get on top of this case and--
Becky: Wanders off to make coffee, somehow stopping at desk of colleague.
Colleague: Yes?
Becky: *looks helpless* I have... a problem.
Colleague: I'll sort it.
Becky: Result! skips off to lunch.

See, this is why I'm a crap employee. Eh.

Also, no internet at work. No mailage! Damned IT department... I should just take up smoking in order to get some skiving time in.

Apart from that... I'm pretty damned content. :p

Oh Dear, sounds like your new work place suffers from major communication problems within management. How does it feel to be a human ping-pong ball, batted from one manager to the next?

Oh, just great. The adrenaline rush of panic makes the day worthwhile! ;)
