Drabble-me-do
The weekend's been pretty lazy. I've cooked and written, but by and large, it's been pleasantly slow - I have a lot of things on this week and need to work up energy for it. Like the Russian exam! (I love exams, and no, I'm not being sarcastic.) :D

93#: Quest
"Take that back."
"Why?”
"I warn you," snarled Fabrice, glaring at the spiteful, green-eyed planter in the darkness of the tavern, "Apologise!”
"No."
"You wretched cur!” He slapped the young man across the face, hard, "I challenge you to a duel!"
A taunting, sinister smile crept across his face. "Such theatrics. Just kill me now.”
Fabrice growled. "Will you duel?"
“No.”
“Coward,” sneered Fabrice.
"Ignore the fool,” said the landlord. "He'll be dead before the year's out.”
They looked away, resuming their conversations, eager to forget the young man. He was fierce and broken and already disappearing into the shadows.
#50: Play
“Get off me, Lestat!”
“Surrender, Louis!”
“Never!”
I wrestle with him, delighting in the silliness of the situation, in bloodless, fraternal play. “You insult my honour!” I cry dramatically.
He laughs as we fall from the couch, tussling on the floor. I pin him down; he smirks up at me. “But it is a garish shirt, Lestat. I’m trying to help you here!”
“How dare you!”
“How dare you! Stop tickling me!”
I grab his chin with one hand and try to look stern. “I challenge you to a duel, monsieur!”
“I accept,” he says, grinning, and throws himself forward.
It was The Simpsons tonight that inspired 'Quest'. Well, wherever one can find inspiration...

Though I do suspect it was you that reminded me...

Oooh, regardless where the inspiration came from, this was very powerful.
Loved Play, it made me smile. :)

It was the Simpsons episode where Homer gets himself a duelling glove and keeps slapping people in the face and challenging them to a duel. Everyone runs scared, until this Southern guy takes him up on the offer.
I think Louis has great comedy potential, there. I mean, in IWTV he says he backed out of a few duels and now I have a vision of him shrieking like Homer and running away. >:)
