(no subject)

There are daffodil leaves or whatever you call them poking through the soil in the garden. Last night, there was plenty of shrieking as a wasp tried out some neat kamikaze bombs on us in the kitchen. I was just preparing some fajita wraps for my lunch tomorrow when I realised I'd have to thwap the mozzie circling my delicious, vein-filled arms.

Two things:

1. Where's my bleedin' snow? >:|

2. WTF, EARTH, WTF?

Our daffs have been poking through for a couple of weeks. I don't know if I'll have to put them under burlap or a cold frame!

We had some snow in NY today. It lasted for three minutes.

I swear, I've never experienced a winter like it. Granted, I'm still young (well, till the end of this month), but it's really freaky. Daffodils have always been a strictly March thing.

Did you receive my card?.

I've been so stoned on pain med I must have forgot! SORRY! Yes! We did get it and had such a good laugh over the penguin on it. My hubby really identified with that bird - He's always the one to scap up the last of the Christmas fruit cake!

We had one very unpleasant snow storm November 30/December 1. Since then nothing there's been nothing, which actually suits me fine. But this strange warmness and just occasional coldness like today makes me wary of what's to come.

Exactly -- and I suppose I'm afraid that those daffodils will be killed off if there's a sudden cold snap. The wasp? I'm not so concerned about that.

There was sleet in Birmingham yesterday. It only lasted a short while but of course it happened when everyone had to go out of the building due to a fire alarm!

Drunk? Good stuff! >:)

We have a spate of rainbows. It's so weird! I mean, rainbows rock with all those acid-trip colours, but dude... even sleet would be more welcome at this time of year. I like to feel I've actually seen a month, you know?

On the other hand, Smash owns.

Y YES I'M DRUNK

Mr Snow told me he hates you. Mr Mozzie, meanwhile, whispered that he luuurves you.

Blame your lack of snow on el nino. That's why we've been dumped on every friday since the blizzard. And, oh look, we get freezing rain AND more snow this friday. YAY!

Holy shit. You know, my mother came in from the raspberry canes this morning, CARRYING RASPBERRIES. IN JANUARY. This is so deeply wrong I don't know where to begin, and we haven't even covered the subject of your wasp yet. I don't think they die off properly in the season formerly known as winter anymore - we found one in the bedroom last December 22nd, which was the latest I'd ever encountered one. The horror. Oh, and before Christmas, we saw a tree in blossom. BLOSSOM!!! (Hey, that's almost as much fun as going, "BOSOM!!!") Finally, daffodils in January are nothing new where I am - for the last nine years I've been seeing them at this time of year and going WTF?!
