I'm back in Spain, which kind of makes me sad (I really enjoyed being around my family) but also happy (It's really sunny here today and Not Grey).

I have gastroenteritis, which is a lovely reminder of the good old days when I worked in the NHS, but I dragged myself into work and apart from the queasiness, it was a good thing to do - today is El Dia de Los Reyes - the Three Kings. In Catalonia, they enter the port by boat and then parade through the city. The mayor then hands them a 'magic key' so that they can enter all houses and deliver presents to the children of Catalonia. Yes, the spoilt buggers get three rounds of Christmas presents.

It kicks off at 5pm or thereabouts. I can watch it from my office window! :D

*child-like excitement*

ETA: They've just entered port on a tall ship, surrounded by a fleet of boats and cannon fire. It's so magical and awesome and asdfghjkl; I have to leave work!!

I am rather glad we dont have the pressure to buy three rounds of christmas presents as i am sure, as much as we may try wont spread the cost.

I hope you feel better soon. I love the idea of Epiphany being taken so seriously; I'm the sort of person who gets sniffy at people who take their trees down at the end of December. I'm eking things out with one last evening around the lit-up tree tonight, and the syrupy tape of the Christmas ep of Lark Rise to Candleford. XD

So THAT'S what it is? I saw it on my calender and thought it was "have an epiphany " day and how weird that was...
