The BAFTAs

Okay, general thoughts on last night's BAFTAs...

I generally prefer the BAFTAs because they're not so glitzy and in-your-face as the Oscars. Also, they don't (usually) have such pushy politics.

Dear God but Jude Law looked GREAT.

Dear God, but Johnny Depp.

I love Scarlett Johanssen. I think she deserved Best Actress-- but what the hell was with her hair? With the reheaheaally bright pink lipstick? :|

As much as I love Depp and Law, how sour did they look when Bill Murray won Best Actor? Was actually kind of funny.

Renee Zellwegger went on and on and on and ooon. To the point where I switched over to ITV and checked the news to see RotK had won best film.

Stephen Fry's quip about Jude Law in Wilde had me in stitches. Too funny! ^-^

That was totally my favourite moment! Just Jude's face at that point :)

Also- Jude and Johnny- wow, they looked good.

I have no idea why RotK got best script though... I totally adore the film, but the script was somewhat bad and cloying in places. It just didn't deserve to win in _that_ catagory.

I completely agree about RotK. I remember shouting out "But some of the lines were cheesier than a...uh... fromagerie!"

Glad it won Best Cinematography, though, because wow. ;)

Jude Law's face...priceless. I want to see that clip again-- I wonder if BBC3 will repeat it. Heehee...

What did Stephen Fry say? I was at work. Missed the broadcast.

He brought out a letter that a relative had allegedly written, about the time he was caught in bed with Jude Law. He sighed and said, "No, that was Wilde. It was just a film."

He then glanced down and stood there thinking for a few moments.

"Sorry, I was miles away." he said, and the camera cut to Jude Law, who was in hysterics of laughter. Haha!

I love Stephen Fry. I want one for my home, like as an ever-enjoyable accessory.

i was trying very hard to watch the film "unbreakable" on ITV as normally award ceremonies are so pretenious crap, that they leave me feeling sick.... but too be honest,, the camera man must be gay, because of the amount of times Johnny Depp kept creeping into view. But, it kept viewing figures high! lol

I must say, I dont think Lost in TRanslation should have won Best Actress or Best Actor, i am glad of the recognition it got, though. But, Johnny should have got it..

Finally what the fuck was Bill Nighy doing winning best supporting actor? FFSAke!

and where did all that hair come from ? Holly hunter and Johanna need to go back to the hairdressers and demand thier money back.. one is too old for all that hair the other is too young for doll look? shocking pink lipstick! jeez! talent, but no taste!

Dude, if you were the cameraman, would you focus on that lipstick, or Depp's face? ;)

I was really pleased that Bill Murray won Best Actor, though I would have been even happier if Johnny Depp had won it.

Unbreakable? More like Unwatchable.

I looooved the BAFTAS Fry is always so funny at these things!

Of course I'm way too biased on LOTR to say that it didn't deserve anything, because hell it did. I'd like to see anyboyd else try and break Tolkien's books into a script.

Scarlett Johannsan God she's boring.

Renee- SPEAK UP!

I was sooo gutted Depp didn't win anything! The guy practicly made last year a movie year. He saved the Summer from the likes of.. The Hulk >.< And then Lotr came along afterwards :D

I loved how Fry sent his 'mother' along to the cinema. "Wasn't your nickname in school Lord of the Rings?" ".. it was actually Lord of the Flies"

Anyway! Yeah :)

LMAO!

I forgot about the Lord of the Flies thing...ahahaa...

Agreed on Zellweger, too. I turned the sound right up, only for my eardrums to explode when the next person spoke.
