America recap: Over the water/Kansas
I have so much to do! So many things to organise! Of course, the logical thing would be to go and do these things and stop procrastinating. The totally illogical thing to do would be to upload my holiday snaps. Yes.

It was a gorgeous, sunny day in England as I left for America. It was gorgeous and sunny in England during the time I was in America. And since the time I came home (6th of July) to this very day, there has not been one single day of uninterrupted sunshine where I live. The sky right now is heavy and grey. Waah. :(

In America. The road trip begins!

Kansas! I was all fascinated by the wide, open roads and the Jurassic Park-esque warning in the mirror. Surely the novelty would wear off? It didn't! >:D

So we went to this roadside attraction, Prairie Dog Town, which is the Greatest Thing Ever. This was a cage full of rattlesnakes. Because I was so excited, the owner opened up the cage and let me lean in to take pictures of these really angry snakes.

There were, of course, stinky-but-rad prairie dogs.

And a depressed badger. :(

And, uh, this. :|

Moar Kansas.
This is like the worst photo ever. It's a picture of a car and a building taken from a wonky angle. Sorry about that. Anyway, this is Lawrence, Kansas, where we met up with frankly awesome YA author Tessa Gratton. She was very kind and let us stay the night, showed me fireflies in the garden (I've never seen them before! How lovely they are!) and read Beowulf to us. In Old English. <333

A courgette stuffed with curried vegetables and all this... oh, I dunno. My comment on Facebook is 'an orgasm on a plate' and I stand by that descriptor. Lawrence had some gorgeous restaurants and shops. I loved it.

History geekage!

The next day, onto Missouri! It was a wine day. >:D

The courgette might have distracted me, though!

Everyone's going to be all, 'OMG the five-legged cow!' whenever I recount this trip. Hahaha. :D

There were also these foxes in a cage, rite, and these geese were sitting next to the cage, just staring at them and taunting them. They were all, 'you wanna eat the geese, huh? Too bad, so sad!' and the foxes were all pissed off.
It was pretty much the greatest thing ever.
