1. When did you first read and get into the VCs? How did they strike you then?
I always meant to read them but never got around to doing it. When I was sitting the December exams for my first semester at university, we had to analyse different texts for themes on history, homoeroticism and so on. One of the texts was labelled Freniere and was Louis describing the history of New Orleans and Lestat killing. I recognised it as Interview With the Vampire (I have a pretty encyclopaedic knowledge when it comes to literature and have written essays on books I've never read) so I went to town with it, remembering my dad banning me from watching it when I was younger as it was about gay vampires. :p I got the second-highest grade in the year for the exam, so was all, neat! I understand this book and stuff.
Meanwhile, I won a prize at a ceremony at my old college (non-UK types: this is where you go from 16-18) for getting the best grades (allow me to boast: I have been fair to middling since then) and received a load of book tokens for it. I promptly went out and bought IWTV and adored it. I went on and on about it. I was taken aback by sudden!rockstar when starting TVL, but loved it more than the first book (at the time. I now think IWTV is better) and was utterly thrilled at the world presented to me in QotD. It was here I started getting into fanfic and was troubled by all the comms on ABAR and good old Rotoli decrying the later books. I grew from thinking 'this woman is a genius! A GENIUS I SAY!' to 'meh, she was really quite good and now she's insane, but..' and here I am to this day.
2. What was the first fic you ever wrote?
Oh, man. Possibly this really, really, really awful AU where Lestat goes to some market out of town with Gabrielle as a child and bullies some oversensitive kid who turns out to be Louis. It was terrible. But

3. You have the time, money, and space to keep any number of pets, and any kind. What?
Dogs and pigs. I'd seriously save as many pigs as I could, which wouldn't be any good because other pigs would take their places in the abbatoirs (I hate that word more than anything else. Why do we use such a horrible word!) but I love pigs. So clever and wonderful and stubborn. If it wasn't extremely morally wrong, a tiger. I love them. And foxes! Foxes are just the best.
4. You are hosting a party for any number of people, real or fictitious, alive or dead. Who do you invite?
Camille Desmoulins, Lee Miller, Aidan Turner (what? I can't have one crush there?), George Orwell, Camille Claudel (she might depress me, though), Russell Brand. (He'd shake things up a bit.) No fictional characters I love, because I tend to like the crazy ones.
5. What's the best joke you've heard lately?
Er, all that springs to mind is this:
Those two guys who thought Superman was a bird or a plane...?
What the fuck were they so excited about?

1. What is the worst book you have ever read?
I'm finding it hard to answer this one. But I'm going to pick The Kite Runner, which was poorly-written, manipulative trash and which I recently ranted to

2. I know you've gotten to travel all over, so I want to ask the standard question: where is your favorite place in the whole world?
Another one I can't decide. My three favourite cities are Sarajevo, Paris and New Orleans, in no particular order. I will always live in Europe because it's my ~homeland and I love it. But again, I was speaking to

3. If you could visit any place, during any time period, when would you choose and why?
1790s England or France. I'd be safer in England but oh, how I wish I could just be there to see all the crazy stuff. The volcano in 1783 killing off hundreds of thousands of Europeans, the turmoil of the Revolution, the Romantics, the rise of America. It'd be amazing.
4. What is your earliest memory? (Obviously, if it is super painful or embarrassing, you can go with the next earliest memory.)
It's raining outside and I'm standing by the patio, whilst my awful big brother tells me about the boogeyman. >:| I'm somewhere between the ages of 2-4.
5. Do you ever wish you'd taken a different career path?
I wish I'd taken the opportunity I was offered in journalism when I was younger: it was a great opening and I know I had the talent to make it work. But I've done so many different jobs and they've all been an experience. Teaching has been my favourite thing and I do hope to get ESL qualified so I can teach across Europe.

I think a trip to New Orleans is in order to revive the love for the VC's. But, then again Anne Rice has gone along way to destroy any real love left for these immortal characters.
Bring on Eric now,,,
