Alsatian Castration

My (not-so) little Jacklet has gone to the vet's today to have his knackers cut off. Or be neutered, whichever. I'm worried about him because the operation requires an anaesthetic and he has an erratic heartbeat. If anything happened to him, I couldn't bear it.

If I ever have children, I'll be a nervous wreck.

Waah. Just 'phoned my mum. He had to be given a sedative because he was so upset (and tried to eat the vet, bless his bitey shark mouth.)

Poor thing. I'll buy him a piece of pork on the way home tonight. I know chops aren't really compensation for virility, but he's blessedly thick and might forget. ;)

Um, sorry. I'll be over here.

OMG FANFIC!!!11!! <3

Even weirder considering she was his doggy mother-figure when we got him. Aww.

(Still not as weird as Taylor/Zac) *squick*

No, he didn't. Phew! He was too innocent. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah poor Jack!

Hope it all goes okay. When my kitties had the snip I was panicky all day and they don't even have heart problems.

[identity profile] rebness.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. When our cat done, I was worried as well. Not so much as with Jack though, because he doesn't suck and murder our local rabbits, and yeah, his heart. Hopefully, because he's a great big thing, he'll be okay.

My (not-so) little Jacklet has gone to the vet's today to have his knackers cut off.

ROFLMAO!!!! Thank you Becky darling-- I haven't really laughed out loud in a week and I really needed that.

Awww, poor Jack. He'll be fine & he'll love you again..... in about a month. ;)

Seriously though. My kitty Caoillin has a very serious heart condition and she went through her spay very well even with all my fretting that something might happen. Don't worry & let me know how it goes.

[identity profile] rebness.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Heehee. Well, I suppose you have to see the funny side. ;)

Thanks for the info on your kitty-- that seriously *does* make me feel better. I'm going to hug him to death when I get home, but not so much that, you know, he dies. Because that would negate my worrying over him.

When my dog, Pepper, was spayed, I was a wreck. I was so afraid she'd tear her stitches. When I asked the vet about it, he said 'oh, we glue them together now. No stictches.' =80

[identity profile] rebness.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
!!!!

I actually just put my hands to my face then in horror! And now I can't help laughing! Bahahhahaaa!

I hope they don't glue Jack together. He's so bloody clumsy. =:O

*sporfle*

Yeah, it was pretty funny after the shock wore off. And my hubby called her 'Glue Girl' for a week or so afterwards.

[identity profile] diana-molloy.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I just had a mental image of those tubs of glue that you get in primary (elementary) school (that smells like something died in it and has a twisty orange top and a thick black brush) with the vet being an 8 year old (with stathescope around the neck and one of those mirrored round head thingies doctors used to use) who is trying to stick the dog back together (and you care about my weird mental crap right?). Seriously though what happens to the glue does it eventually dissolve or something?

[identity profile] versailles-rose.livejournal.com 2005-02-11 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's exactly the mental picture I got as well... that and the old tv advert for 'Crazy Glue'.

Actually, it's a new adhesive used for surgical procedures. I've been told by an E-room nurse that they use that glue instead of stitches for all sorts of things, from operations to cuts that need to be closed up.

And, yeah, but the time it dissolves the incision is healed up.

mm

I've heard some rumor that Superglue was invented for that purpose in the first place...no idea if it's true but interesting nonetheless.

dude

I'm sure your pup will be fine :) give him lots of hugs and cuddles - but pork is bad for dogs so maybe a steak instead ;)

I hope he'll be just fine and you'll feel silly for worrying. :)

[identity profile] diana-molloy.livejournal.com 2005-02-13 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
How did he get on? Was he okay when he got home?

[identity profile] tsaress.livejournal.com 2005-02-14 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
*huge hugs* to you both
