Amsterdam photos coming a bit later. First, I must tell you all that I am SICK of Spain pulling tricks on me and showing up my inherent Britishness.

You see, in Britain, all food comes beautifully presented in little shrink-wrapped packets. Guilt, in my Asda? Not possible!

So, you know, trying to be a bit more frugal and cap silly spending, you go to the local supermarket in Montcada and you buy a chicken wrapped in cellophane. And you bring it home and start to prepare it and you realise that it has a head. Oh, and absolutely everything still inside. So you shriek and shudder and then think this is ridiculous. Your ancestors were the Vikings some peasant-y type Scots and they wouldn't be defeated by a deceased chicken.

Humming loudly, you cut the head off. You can feel the...resistance, but NONONO JUST CUT. There! And you reach in to take out the innards and it's just really, really, squishy. So you retch. And you suffer from acid reflux, so hurling really is your forte. And you retch again and try not to think about anything and *squish* and then you run to the loo, actually be sick, but decide that you've come this far, so you finish cleaning the chicken, roast it and then can barely eat it and give most of it to the dog. Well, that was a worthy and not at all depressing exercise. Come back, Asda ready meals. ;_;

NOTHING can cheer me up right now.

Raw chicken is disgusting enough, without heads and guts to boot. I feel for you.

I fear that I won't be able to eat chicken for some time to come. It reminded me of one of those ghoulish autopsy shows on Channel Four. D:

It's taken me years to eat meat (with many caveats) on a regular basis, and even now it's an achievement for me to chop a slice of frozen salami into tiny pieces to distribute more evenly across a pizza. I just Do Not Want to tangle with stuff like that, so you have my sympathy.

Also: ZOMG THANK YOU!!!! THE BOOK ARRIVED THIS MORNING AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE AWESOME!!! :D
