(no subject)

Started working in the new department today. Yes, yes, it's Friday and all that, but I wanted one day of checking it out before settling in for the big week o'd00m. Anyway, it was better. Do do do. I had an old lady cry because I told her that she hadn't attended for her first counselling session, so she'd have to be re-referred by her GP, and I felt bloody awful. Stupid fecking hospital policies. Apart from that little hiccoughs like that, the day still went extremely well and I didn't leave wanting to SMASH and KILL, so I think I might finally be close to feeling satisfied with my job.

I think I'm going to go into Manchester or Chester tomorrow for a spot of shopping for London, Franzie and Venice goodness, but I'm also contemplating just getting down to some serious reading. I still have a lot of Italian to learn before I go to Venice, and other than that I have a pile of new books to read (no thanks to the evil pandorasblog and the frankly fab article jaffacakequeen sent me on tourist!Venice. Am getting right excited, which sucks when I'm trying to concentrate on preparing for NaNoWriMo, ficciness and general...things.
