Bye Winston, Hello Chavo
Nov. 15th, 2007 12:26 pmIf there's one thing that makes me really, realllllly happy about my new flat (apart from actually having daylight, living with a very good friend rather than a random, not having evil cats that wee everywhere, no cockroaches and better transport) it's my friend's dog, Chavo.
Chavo is a scruffy little sod whom she rescued from the streets a year or so ago. He sort of looks like a wannabe poodle, but seems to be part Steiff bear, part cat (he can leap almost to my head, the weirdo). Anyway, he's spoilt rotten and full of love in that ineffable doggy way.
Hannah's away in Ireland at the moment, so he's latched onto me. It's so heartening to return home after work and to have him jumping up, ecstatic to see me. He gets upset if he can't sleep in my room, but every night has to spend ten minutes playing with me before he will settle. And of a morning, I wake up to him excited, all, "Oh my God! You're awake! I love you I love you I love yooooou!" (At least, this is what I think his happy doggy noises mean.)
In short, he's friggin' awesome and makes me feel very, very happy. Adéu, Winston. >:)
