Dec. 30th, 2007 11:09 amChristmas was good. I think I built it up a bit because I wanted to see my family and my Amy so much, but it was nice to be home for a few, too short, days, to catch up and eat very, very rich English food. Hee. It was the same as every year, really; food and presents, lovely Christmas tree, Doctor Who (even if this year's special wasn't all that). I met up with Penny and Chris in town on the 23rd and spent a really nice day chatting in various pubs about everything under the sun. The astrophysics debate in Alma de Cuba was the first time I think I've ever been completely out of my depth in a pub debate, but it was interesting.
Amy was good; she's perked up a lot since she was ill, though she has a little patch on her leg where they stuck the drip in, bless. She's on a strict diet of wholesome doggy food and walks to aid her in recuperating, so my sister and I had to refuse her even the smallest treat. She did, however, get hugged every five seconds.
Jack is good; all wolfy and seemingly even bigger than last time. If he stands on his hind legs, he's as tall as me! He knew I was going back on the final day and kept nuzzling me. That, coupled with my dad asking me to just stay was a bit of a wrench. Actually, a lot of a wrench, especially when I knew I was coming back to work the next day, but I had to be in Barcelona for many reasons, including that of two wenches currently staying with me.
As ever, Barcelona can never, ever be normal, so we've already had some bizarre adventures. Don't ever be fooled by either of them, by the way -- we got through three bottles of wine last night and I should point out two things: firstly, if we'd had more wine, that would have gone to and secondly, I'm the only one up right now, at 12.30 in the afternoon. >:)
