Mar. 11th, 2011 07:47 pmWhen I was teaching in Koriyama, I experienced several earthquakes (apparently not of any great strength) that terrified me. I remember struggling not to flee from the room in a panic whenever the very foundations of the building seemed to shake and reassuring the kids that it was all okay, not to cry when I could very well understand their panic.
I really, really hope they're all okay today. I can't forget the fearful way they'd look to me for reassurance whenever the earth started shaking. It's such a horrible situation.
