You just have to hear all about this

I have just had the nicest lunch ever. My bro cooked a tofu stir-fry yesterday and I took some in for lunch today. I don't know what was in it but OM NOM NOM. I had it with bulgar wheat, spinach and red chilli peppers (I love burning my mouth, you see) and a light yoghurt and mint dressing.

I WISH I COULD EXPLAIN HOW TASTY IT WAS

In other non-news, an unofficial resolution for me this year was to read more. I have a massive pile of books I need to plough through but sleeping and internetting seems to drain my time. This is absolutely the worst time for me to discover Cityville on Facebook. It's taking over my life! :(

The book I'm trundling through now - and for which I will get off the internet and read for the rest of my lunch break - is Fatal Purity: Robespierre and the French Revolution. Now, I've always had a soft spot for poor old Robespierre. Yes, yes, incited the Terror, etc. He had some great ideals but such an ego. I'll review when I finally finish it.

I wonder how it'll end? >:D

I shall do! I usually tell him his cooking's awful but he just gets tofu so... right. I'll send it to you. :D

I CAN HAZ...TOFU?

Totally hear you about needing to read more. I also really need to work on finding new stuff to read (I love rereading, and it's so easy to get sucked into that). Though all the awesome favorite book lists in vc media should make that much easier!

Whoo, yes! I am so annoying, though, because I moan about my reading and then end up re-reading something I've read twice before. Bah.

Do you ever notice how some things taste even better on the second day? That might be part of the alchemy with this recipe... :)

Hell, yes!

Lasagne the next day is ten times better.

Also trifle. The first time I made a trifle, I thought it wasn't that nice on the first day; it seemed over-sweet. Then someone told me that's normal for trifles (maybe the ingredients need time to... meld?!), and voila, the second day it was AWESOME.

Ah ah! And I have a soft spot for people not afraid to express unpopular opinions :D

:D

Why does everyone hate my Robespierre! All he did was plunge France into chaos. ;_;

But srsly this is a great book.

I need to learn how to cook tofu, 'cause, yum.

I am trying to read more as well. This may not be your problem, but I spend a lot of time with my laptop in bed, on the internets. So I am trying not to eat breakfast with the internet, or to look at the internet before sleep, and instead to read during those times. Sometimes I fail, like right now.

[identity profile] rebness.livejournal.com 2011-01-19 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
This is exactly my problem, marra. Like last night, I was supposed to start reading from 9am. Instead I sat in bed with my laptop watching American programmes and e-mailing you.

In sum: It's All Your Fault.

Pls to provide evidence for this accusation.
