Lots of things to write hom... to Livejournal about in the past few days, folks. Doctor Who blew my socks off, but I'm not going to go into that seeing as most of you won't get to see it for a while, yet. Very, very, good. Clever and heralding the arrival of the sexah Tennant. Also, Russell T Davies embraced the slash! Life is good.

In other news, IT'S TOO HOT TO DO ANYTHING. Typical. June pelts you with rain, then makes the idea of sleeping under the covers of your bed unbearable each night. Over the weekend, it was hotter here than in Barbados and Miami (32oC, Miami? We laugh in your puny face!) but without a funky beachfront. We have, however, had a barbeque and lots of guests. Excellent.

I have to have a medical on Friday to make sure I'm not dying before starting my New Job, so I have to while away the days till then cooking and stuff. Made potato rostis today, and experimented with chickpeas. Excellent.

Now, this is for you, jaffacakequeen. So, Yurp is getting sick of Tom Cruise's self-importance. He turns up at the British premiere of War of the Worlds yesterday. Leicester Square... hell, London itself, grinds to a standstill for him.

And then someone squirts water in his face.

I am speechless (well not literally). I had no idea that wonderful, marvelous place existed. Not only are there icons but Slash too! I'm in heaven. I could kiss you... and would if not for the fact that a) this is the internet and all I would kiss would be a computer screen (and I'm at work no less) and b) I'm not as much of a skank as Jack is. So yeah I'm basically saying thanks and in the words of Bill and Ted We're I'm not worthy.
