You know what I'm sick of? Having a hiatus forced upon me. By a fecking machine. My computer's not even three years old and it acts like some nightmarish Windows 3.1...thing.  I tire of living in constant fear of the Blue Screen which means a week, two weeks, of alternately begging/hitting/fiddling with the computer to start working again.

Things I've Done While "Away":

1. Caught up on reading. I've read some fantastically horrid book about the guillotine, finally finished The Birth of Venus which I should have returned to [personal profile] pandorasblog about a year ago, and I'm loving The Shadow of the Wind. Hurrah for literarcy and sentences without smilies!

2. Become teetotal (Ha!) -- that so ends next week. A girl can't be sober in Dublin.

3. I've been watching the World Cup. Yes. Football replaced the void left by the internets. The most exciting match by far has been Italy vs. America, although I was sat there feeling waves of guilt and sorrow wash over me when an American player was hit viciously in the face while my brothers insisted it was just part of the game. Barbarian men!

4. Helped with the gardening and been thrilled to bits by planting an olive tree.

5. Attended a couple of parties.

The worst part is, I weigh all this life-affirming stuff up against Livejournal, my e-mail, Fandom Wank and Youtube... and the latter wins. Sometimes a girl just has to resign herself to the fact that some of us are called to be nerds, and that's the end of it. *Clickclickomgclick*

Hmm, I think you need to stop going to foreign lands for six months, save your money, and then buy a laptop. Not like [livejournal.com profile] pandorasblog's machine though, her laptop was evil for awhile!

JOIN THE LAPTOP REVOLUTION!!

You should see my brother's laptop. It's done for, Ava. DONE FOR. However, it is very sexy and sleek, and when I've finished with Paris and Alsace in August, I will be updating to something sexy and sleek.

Italy vs. America? It sucked. Really, really sucked. Looks like our players aren't able to play a decent football match anymore. =(

I was really surprised by Italy. We were convinced they'd easily win, but in the end... I think it was just a really bad-tempered game. England's first game was awful -- maybe both our countries will do better as the tournament progresses. ;)

It never ends. Ever, ever, ever. It drags you down with it. Much like the stones did with Virginia.

Mmm, Dublin. >:)

So, what do you think? Can Australia beat Croatia, ZOMG?

Croatia have been pretty rubbish. You'd best beat them, or hang your head in shame!1112

(We had to have something we were better than the Australians at.)
