So I'm walking through Liverpool city centre with three lads around my age as the sun sets on a beautiful Saturday. The following conversation happens:
Friend #1: Where should we go to, then? Alma de Cuba? Revolution? The Tea Factory?
Friend #2: Oh, yeah! I could really do with a pot of Assam tea.
Becky: The hell?
Friend #1: I'm getting Earl Grey.
Friend 3#: English Breakfast.
And all I could think was, I hope they have mint tea there.
I was far too excited at my pot of tea. I enjoyed the following dinner party too much. I enjoyed talking about mortgages and science and Japanese lessons. I don't recall exactly when the spectre of middle-class, middle-age values started creeping up on my social group, but it's rather alarming that I'm grateful to be able to cast off the clubbing for wine-tasting and parlour music. It's so much more civilised, sweetie darling.

Date: 2006-09-25 12:43 pm (UTC)AND. And, right? I had wine that night. ONE GLASS. And I stopped to sniff and appreciate its heady aroma. I enjoyed the buttery feel of the expensive white wine we shared, and I commented on it rather than just reaching for another bottle. Waah.

Date: 2006-09-25 01:04 pm (UTC)Ah, see. I'm more of the velvety persuasion for wine. I like my whites buttery and my reds full-bodied, hence why I usually stick to Italian wines or a good claret.

Date: 2006-09-25 04:25 pm (UTC)One should never scream with wine in their mouth, no matter how bad it is. Talk about uncivilised. *mee hee*

Talking of tea, I found this article quite funny:

Date: 2006-09-28 10:34 am (UTC)Tell you what! I'll try and hang around online a bit longer tonight, say til ten. I've been on in the evenings a fair bit this week anyway, owing to having found lots of cool Lego sites. I can show you the delights of Castle Lego! *maniacal gleam*
