2003, We Hardly Knew Ye

1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Visited America for the first time, by myself, and met a lot of people, worked in France, visited parts of Greece, rode a moped, visited Scotland, slept outside, slept in a tent, learnt German, seen celebrities such as David Blaine, Ian McKellen and...er...David Dickinson, taken up regular exercise, started work on a novel.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
A couple, yes. I hope I keep next year's resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
*touch wood*
5. What countries did you visit?
America, France, Greece and Scotland.
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
Moolah, more focused goals.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Not sure.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Travelling everywhere, and being unafraid of doing so.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not concentrating on my career. I also really regret not meeting
gairid in New York, because I'd like to some day.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Went in for an operation for a long-standing problem, but *eh*.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A "New York Fucking City" T-shirt. I got some shocked New Yorkers, I tell you!
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My sister Rachael, who has gone through a terrible time, but really bucked up this year. Also, everyone from Jesse Jackson to Miss Dynamite who stood up against the war.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Bush and his lackeys, and Tony Blair for following him rather than listening to his own people or to the rest of Europe.
Other people, too, but I'm all British and refuse to divulge that information.
14. Where did most of your money go?
On travel, particulary to America.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The trip to America.
16. What songs will always remind you of 2003?

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Happier.

Geez, I hope thinner.

Less well-off throughout the year, okay right now.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing. And, ha, travelling.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

. How will you be spending Christmas?
With my family, at the family home. Will have a lovely roast dinner, a spread, drinks, and watch all the usual stuff, such as Top of the Pops. Will probably fold and watch Amelie, too... because I love it.

In lust with the lovely Chilean guy... but nah.
23. How many one night stands?

24. What were your favourite TV programmes?
The Sopranos, Teachers, er...The Bill.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate is too strong a word. But I certainly have re-evaluated my opinions on some people, and drawn closer to others.
26. What was the best book you read?
Either The Secret History or The Hours.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
A lot of brilliant songs that
squishypeanut ganked for me.
28. What did you want and get?
Books and DVDs.
29. What did you want and not get?
The moon.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Pirates of the Caribbean, Secretary.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Restaurant, drinks, silly stuff... 22.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A bit more structure to it. Hee!
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Scruffy student morphs into office worker.
34. What kept you sane?
*Some* of my friends, *some* of my family.
5. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
So obvious, but Johnny Depp.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The illegal occupation of Iraq.
37. Who did you miss?
Some of my friends who have drifted into the great unknown.

To be more laissez-faire with people. You can't change them. To be less laissez-faire with work and politics.
