It's so depressingly hot! I had to get up early this morning as I felt like I was suffocating in my room, even with a fan. I had a dream last night that it was winter and I had on a coat and a scarf and it was snowing. It was so good. I never thought I'd welcome winter, but by God...
Ganked from
mothergoddamn
Song Number 1: Rivers of Babylon - Boney M
Your favoUrite lyric from this song: "We wept/when we remembered Zion".
Does this song have any bad memories attached? Yes. Chris and I were in Corfu and decided to go on some tour around the island. The coach driver had a tape of Boney M - five songs. And for eight hours, these five songs were played on a loop. We wanted to die.
What genre is this? I dunno.
Song Number 2: Innuendo - Queen
Your favoUrite lyric from this song: Er, it's a long one, but: 'If there's a God or any kind of justice under the sky/if there's a point, if there's a reason to live or die/if there's an answer to the questions we feel bound to ask/show yourself - destroy our fears - release your mask.
Does this song have any bad memories attached? Not per se, but I find it hard to listen to.
What genre is this? Rock.
Song Number 3: Turn - Travis
What's the last line of this song? Learn to turn.
Have you ever seen this artist live? Why, yes, I have. Travis played a free outdoor gig in Barcelona last September. I was very ill at the time, but managed to drag myself along to see it with
jaffacakequeen . I am really, really glad that we went to see them. It was awesome.
Why do you like this song? It just makes me happy, as do all Travis songs.
Song Number 3: Pulp - Sorted for E's and Whizz
What's the first line of this song? 'Oh, is this the way they say the future's meant to feel? 20,000 people just standing in a field?'
Where did you first hear this song? I believe my sister (whose music tastes were before her time) introduced me to it when playing it at home.
How about the first time you heard the artist? What I said above.
Song Number 4: FΓΌr Elise - Beethoven
Which friend could this be a theme tune for, and why?
mothergoddamn , just because it reminds me of It and the evil mo'fo loves to play on my fears.
Write down the chorus:
Haha, no.
How long is this song? This version is 5.01
Song Number 5: Por una Cabeza - (acoustic) - Andres Calamaro
What kind of film would you choose this as the theme for? One where a man loses somebody he loves and he'd be all, 'I lost her by a head, by a head!' and then get all sad. It'd be great.
Best part of this song? The chorus, which translates so well into instrumental tango music.
How long have you been listening to this artist? I haven't. I was first introduced to the instrumental version of this in Schindler's List. Downloaded it, adored it. I just searched for alternate versions of Gardel's masterpiece and found this version. I liked it, so it stayed on my ipod.
Song Number 6: Divine - Sebastien Tellier
The fourth line reads: Through my eyes.
What's the meaning of this song: I have no idea.
Who introduced you to this artist?: Eurovision. One of the few good songs this year. Of course, as it wasn't a Baltic or Balkan song, it didn't place very high.
Song Number 7: Vincent - Don McLean
Who does this song make you think of? Er... Vincent Van Gogh? What does it make me think of? Art class. Self-destruction. Standing in the Musee D'Orsay and contemplating La Nuit Etoilee whilst being jostled by annoying people.
What's the cover look like on the album this came from? I dunno. I don't feel like searching for it.
FavoUrite lyric from this song? Look out on a summer's day with eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Has your favoUrite song come up? No.
What genre is this? Folk?
