Eurovision this year was FANTASTIC! That was definitely the most enjoyable show in many years - the calibre of the songs was much higher, Russia really did put on a brilliant night.

I loved Norway's entry (he looks like Frodo, for feck's sake!) and understand why it won with a landslide. I have no idea why Iceland (fluffy dress), Azkaban Azerbaijan (lol wut) and the UK (poor man's Leona Lewis) scored so highly, but it was nice to see the western countries given a fair chance for once, without too much infuriating eastern bloc voting.

I wanted Germany to rank higher, just for that audacious Dita Von Teese appearance. Haha. Oh, well... so, here, have a Norwegian hobbit:

Fantastic, cheesy, brilliant stuff. Can't wait for 2010! :D

We need something like Eurovision here in America. Everyone on my f-list from Europe is talking about it and seriously, it sounds awesome.

It would be awesome if they had each state doing a competing song! Probably never be as wonderfully cheesy as the woeful Albanian song last night, but I think it's such a fun contest, it'd be great to have an American version!

I agree. It was brill, and Graham Norton took over Wogan's commentating brilliantly. I voted Germany, but the Norwegian guy was very cute, and I didn't mind it winning.

I really missed a Wogan/Norton commentary (the Spanish take it far too seriously, if you ask me), but will definitely be looking out for clips on Youtube in the next few days.

Germany's song was one of their best in a while. I loved the retro Germanic dancers. But I'm glad that if they had to lose, it was Norway and not yet another bloc country. The competion was just so much more lively because of the overhaul in voting.

It makes a wonderful change from the years of 'Norvege nil points'.

Perhaps it sounds OK any other time of the day but having the Norwegian hobbit singing whatever the name of the song blasting out of your radio at 6:30 am, it made my head ache and I was thankful when the presenter, cut the song short. If that was the best I shudder to think what was the worst.

I am going to have to politely disagree and say that this song is Made of Awesome. At least, this must be the only reason why I've had it pretty much on repeat on my ipod for the last week. Hahaha.

But seriously, cheesy contest is cheesy.
