It is 2.42am. I am sprawled on my living room floor, window and balcony doors flung wide open (albeit with the shutters half-closed in case of mozzies), with minimal clothing and iced water.

Twin trickles of sweat are running down my face right now. I am using my Not Nice Blanket to lean on as I type this, for I would otherwise sweat all over my nice new Ikea stuff.

Can't sleep; mozzies will eat me. Or I'll sweat to death, whichevs.

I have decided: autumn is my favourite season here. It is crisp and golden and I buy endless varieties of mushrooms from La Boqueria market to serve on crunchy toast during relaxed Sunday mornings, whilst the beautiful sunlight illuminates the rooms with quiet, clear contentment.

Summer is rowdy and I dunt appreciate it and I am just so not getting to sleep tonight. I can't wait to go to England. RAIN COME BACK!

(Seriously, if it rains, I am going to go and dance in the street. I have done so before. Ahem.)

Mozzies? You mean skeeters? Mosquitoes?

They're horrible here this year. My legs have been itch itch scratch scratch till they're bloody. I no longer venture outside unless I'm doused in OFF! or wearing long pants.

Yeah, mosquitoes = mozzies. I HATE THEM.

My skin scars terribly with them - if they get me on any tender parts (my underarm, my face(!) or my stomach, it scars for good. :(

Plus, we have an invasion of damned tiger mosquitoes, which attack during the day and leave absolutely huge, scarring bites! I've tried everything - repellant with DEET, anything with citron, plugs; they still go for me. It's ridiculous! I've just given up, I swear... (And oh yes, they've bitten my legs and belly when I've been wearing long pants. Seriously, WHAT?)

I've heard of tigers but fortunately we don't have them around here. *knock wood*

The regular ones have gotten so bad that I've stopped taking Taz out into the big yard to train her. They're much worse out there than around the house. The dogs are "but... we want to run". Me - "Need my skin guys. Need to get something done at work besides scratch all day".

You poor thing. I've been there....skeeters eat me alive because I am chunky and full of blood. Its really hot here and nights can be brutal, I am anticipating autumn as well, but I think we might get a long Indian summer, probably well in October.

Have you tried this product? No nasty spray, no nasty chemicals, supposedly all natural plant-based essential oils just a clip-on wrist band or ankle band (in assorted colours) by the look of it -
