So, Troy.

Man, I felt sick at work today. Like, reheaheally bleh. That did not stop me going in early so I could get away for the half past three showing of Troy, though.

Random non-spoiler thoughts...

Is it just me or is Sean Bean's broad Yorkshire accent a little disconcerting to hear when his character is supposed to hail from the Ionian islands?

I really, really, really did not like Odysseus. Give all the knowing smiles you want, mate... but perhaps venturing forth an opinion would get you further.

Cousins, cousins... Why was everyone promoted to cousin status? Is it really so shocking to imagine that Achilles you know, hung out with another man? Did Briseis really need so much prominence in the storyling when in The Illiad Achilles just lists her in a long line of grievances against Agammenon?

Dear God but Hector was just the best. I loved the emphatic, noble slant given to the character, and I think Eric Bana's performance was one of the very best of the film, if not the best. And, boy, he looked fine. So fine that I think we need a picture right about...here:

Oh, Hector

Worryingly, Orlando Bloom seemed rather attractive and also sympathetic despite his usual Legolas/Will Turner acting.

Brad, I adore you. Just...please. A little more expression. Though you were pretty damned cool in those fighting scenes.

Also, check out the pretty funny Guardian Gallery, where they attempt to figure out   just who was responsible for the whole sorry mess. With pretty pictures.

All in all, thrilling, a good way to spend a couple of hours. Different to the bookpoem. Just what was expected, I suppose. I won't go into the spoilers, but waaaah and all that.
