So the good news is that the weight is falling off me. I am barely drinking (which I've never managed to do in England or Spain) and I have visions of being my svelte-as-hell 21-year-old self again. It probs won't happen, but I love seeing the difference every kilo lost has.

Yesterday, I boasted to [livejournal.com profile] mothergoddamn about just eating cabbage with soy sauce and chilli ('tell me more about this new eating disorder', she said) and was very pleased. Along with my dinner (no, not cabbage) I ate till I was full and yet had a lovely low-calorie day.

THEN. TODAY.

I am in agony. Let's not get into the specifics but my body and cabbage are apparently mortal enemies and have been hiding this secret from me for 29 years. Admittedly, my diet has been blessedly cabbage-lite until now but... urgh... I can't cope! Never, ever again. This is worse than a hangover. I guess I have to find a new vegetable to worship.

Well dear, all the brassica family are well known for their gripe-inducing roughage and resulting odours! Think sprouts. I hope the pain has passed through by now. As for chilli, side-effects can be similar. Your poor alimentary canal must be bright red!

Oh, I'm always punishing my alimentary canal. If it's not lashings of red wine, it's spices galore. I'm just so taken aback by Something Healthy destroying me so utterly. Forget all that brassica stuff from now on. >:|

Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ahahahahhahhahaha.

I'm a little worried that my schadenfreude is becoming a problem.

That aside, I'm sorry that your body hates you.

Schadenfreude is the coolest thing ever!

I know, rite? I try to do good by it and it spends the day punishing me!

I miss you, bb. And it's all my fault for not e-mailing you. Shall do that today. I'm just so full of weltschmerz lately. (Ooh, get us! Seems German terms are de rigueur in this entry. Well, so is French. But French is sexy.)

Ha. Speaking of French, I had to spend like half an hour yesterday trying to convince Boyfriend that 'cormidable' was not a real French word. Of course he's kept using it, just to annoy me.

I love that. What was the context he was using it in? >:D

Oh, he was saying it instead of 'formidable'. He thought that was how it was pronounced. I have no idea why.

Chances are, if you would take in cabbage in small quantities and gradually add more to your diet on a regular basis it won't be a problem. It's the initial shock that always gets people when they suddenly go high fibre/roughage.

It makes sense. I almost never touch the stuff, and then only in small amounts, so it probably was a shock to my system. I'll give it a go again. But not right now. :(
