Off to Paris in a couple of hours but I just can't force myself to pack or get moving because of the huge hurdle beforehand. The flight.

I'm obviously not scared of flying, but it's the whole depressing rigmarole, not helped that I'm flying with Easyjet today. I hate the boarding scrum, the horrible sweaty feeling of flying, the annoying orange air hostesses wondering why everyone has brought too much carry-on luggage because they charge for putting luggage in the hold now, the constant attempts to sell overpriced tea and shiz. I HATE FLYING. I wish there was somehow a rail link to Paris from Liverpo... uh, wait.

It's a flight of like forty minutes. I should just go and get ready. But I'll just sit here a bit longer and sulk. And promise myself a glass or two of wine when I get to France. :p

Oh, yes. To be fair, it's only the air hostesses on certain budget airlines but they're just so ~annoying~ and... overly fond of barging past, as I found out to my painful cost last night!

Ugh, I know what you mean - not much fun, is it? EasyJet I can just about cope with, but Ryanair I won't touch with a barge-pole.

Eurostar plus domestic train is probably a bit costly but if you can get a good deal, it's probably worth considering.

Yeah, my friend is flying from Paris (Beauvais!) to Barcelona and I'm deeply worried about her. I hope she can get through the flight without being stung for too many euros.

I'd really like to do Eurostar. I just want a more civilised travelling experience!

Well, I find it extremely easy to avoid paying out money once on board a flight, but to actually get on a Ryanair plane costs a fortune with all the "extras" you can't avoid.

I live in Scotland and travel to London fairly often, with three kids in tow. Although Ryanair's flights are often extremely cheap on the website, by the time you've added in the extras, it costs much more than it does by train, and by the time you've got to and from the airports, through security etc., it takes far longer.
