rebness So last night, my brother's friend texted him and was all, 'want to rage? Google "Luis Moreno" and "lechuza"'.
I didn't recognise the word lechuza, so duly Googled and was distressed to read Football player faces severe punishment for kicking injured owl during match. (Warning: this really may distress you if you watch.)
We watched the video and saw the owl land on the pitch, and what looked like a player accidentally hitting it with the football. 'You can't really blame him,' I said, 'it looks like an acc-'
Which would be the point some callous, idiotic, cruel clown of a football player walked over and kicked the injured bird so hard that it died of shock hours later. The Barranquilla fans (who had adopted it as their mascot) were in a rage, the other players in a rage, and rightly so.
I just couldn't get that poor owl out of my head today. It was the way it looked at him before he hurt it. Why would anyone do that?
I can understand everyone's rage. It was such a shockingly callous thing to do, and in front of all those fans! In front of children! Is Moreno a goddamn idiot? Probably. Why does it still shock me when I come across examples of cruelty like this?
I told my mum about it yesterday and tried to forget it, because honestly, you rage for all the terrible things that happen to animals and humans constantly and you're going to give yourself a heart attack.
Tonight, my mum was all, 'I tried to do something nice. I hope you have a sense of humour.'
This was tucked up in my bed:
I don't know whether to hug him or cry. I shall call him Barra.
