What?

Caveat: I celebrated last year because I was in America for 4th of July and it was festive and fun to shake my fists at those uppity colonials a lot. But c'mon, eljay. C'mon!

I'm sorry, I didn't manage to see that it was not the same discussion. So wrongly posted it here.

*snrk* Writer's block. Jeez. Who thinks these things up?

Shake your fist all you like, bb! (Says an American with Scottish-Belgian roots, settled in New England by way of Chicago and Washington state. :D )

Or if you really want to celebrate, drink cheap shitty beer and set off illegal fireworks in your back yard, causing ALL the neighborhood dogs to bark their heads off for an hour straight. Not that I'm complaining about the neighbors or anything. :x

Dude, the people across the street from us have been setting off fireworks every night for like the last week. It's gotten to the point where I've been sticking my head out the window around midnight and shouting, "COME ON, QUIT IT, I'M TRYING TO SLEEP GODDAMN IT!"

I don't think they can hear me.

Clearly it's Armand's evil plan to keep the world distracted while he quietly buys all of the large corporations.

Armand, sweetie, how about you distract me with Nutella instead? OK?

I was in Colorado last year, so they weren't allowed to set off rockets. I was sad until I realised the mental way in which people did set off fireworks... in their mouths, holding them...

Made me sad we lost a colony of hilarious people, tbh. XD

Hey bb you can come colonize my house! I have good beer! :D

Hee. You should come to my house for the 4th of July; we always have a big cook-out with anywhere from 10 to 20 guests attending, plus lots of beer and grilled food. And as a bonus, if you get here on the 3rd of July, you can watch me have a nervous breakdown in the kitchen!

You mean the Whole World does not celebrate US Independence Day? I am aghast!

I told [livejournal.com profile] tenebrosia who is also one of you Red Coats that she should have taken the day off work to 'mourn the loss of colonies'. Hahaha.

It's so weird because they must have known this question wouldn't go down well with everyone else. I wonder if it was a troll?

Hahahaa. We should! Though I really enjoyed the banter from Americans last year. The guy at the firework stand kept teasing me about it and I was all, 'hey, I'm on your side!'

Ok, your icon rules.

It's funny cause aren't like half of eljay users in Russia or something. I mean, what? How come there was no Canada Day question?

Hehehe, I'd totally be that guy, making jokes to your friend about the Quartering Act. Bwahaha.

That is, assuming you were staying with a friend. The joke doesn't work if you were at a hotel.

I was indeed staying with an American pal. And I would have loved that joke, dammit. XD

Heehee. It's one of my favourite silly scenes ever.

I know, rite! And I can't read Russian very well, but their writers seem quite excited to talk about Russian politics in response and some ~shady dealings this time last year, so it may not have had the intended result.

I'd celebrate Canada Day. It looks rad. ;_;

they just saying, that there is nothing to celebrate since there is no understanding independent of whome they should be feeling.

I read it as meaning "how do you celebrate your country's independence day?" which is still ridiculous, because not all countries have such things.
