Just when you thought Tom Cruise couldn't get any more cheesy, he proposes to Katie Holmes at the top of the Eiffel Tower. And then raves about this wonderfully unique gesture that totally doesn't appear in tacky programmes *coughHollyoakscough* and Jackie Collins novels every five minutes.

He should also perhaps consider learning some more adjectives:

"Today is a magnificent day for me," he said, "I'm engaged to a magnificent woman."

It's Oprah fromage all over again, but now the European media is saturated with it. Gee, thanks, Tom.

For some reason I took Eiffel Tower as Blackpool Tower. I mean I read Eiffel but Blackpool was what went through to my brain. That would have made a funnier story.

I can't believe this guy anymore. What an idiot.
