I watched a programme last night that was, of all things, about the number one. It was very fascinating and stuff, what with the history of how the Sumerians came up with this fabulous number, but about all I can recall is that what makes us so great is we can count to whatever number and make up stupid bloody rules such as those of Pythagaros with which to torment small schoolchildren whilst other animals can only count to three or four.
I swear Amy can count to four, but then she's a border collie so she's the Carol Vorderman of animals.
1. Name someone with the same birthday as you:
Elijah Wood. Same year, though he probably looks younger than me.
2. Where was your first kiss?
In the park, with a local boy called Lee. I think I was about eleven. It didn’t mean anything at all—it never does at that age—but I was very happy.
3. Have you ever seriously vandalised someone else's property?
No.
4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex?
I grew up with two brothers. Of course I have.
5. Have you ever sang in front of a large number of people?
No, and I never would.
6. Whats the first thing you notice about the preferred sex?
Eyes. I love soulful eyes.
7.What really turns you on?
Battle of wits. And big words.
8: What do you order at Starbucks:
A cappuccino with an infusion of hazelnut. I never ask for “Tall.” How can it be tall if there is no standard or small to compare the drink to? It’s always small cappuccino for me.
9. What is your biggest mistake:
Regrets, I’ve had a few…
10: Ever hurt yourself on purpose.
No.
11. Say something totally random about you:
I have small feet.
12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
Yes. A famous American actress about my age. I’m not saying whom.
13. Do you still watch kiddy movies or tv shows?
Yes.
14. Did you have braces?
No.
15. Are you comfortable with your height?
I wish I was a couple of inches taller.
16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the opposite sex has done for you?
Not telling.
17. When do you know it's love?
Oh, I’m still pondering that. It always seems to be lust.
18. Do you speak any other languages?
Yes. French very well, Spanish conversationally, Tourist!Italian and Greek and I can understand Latin.
19. Have you ever been to a tanning salon?
Yes. I really don’t like them, but I’ll go on them infrequently during the dark, horrid English winter.
20. What magazines do you read?
Those that come with the papers. I don’t really do magazines much now. Sometimes Empire for films and Paris Match to brush up on my French.
21. Have you ever ridden in a limo?
No.
22.Has anyone you were really close with passed away?
My grandmothers.
23.Do you watch MTV?
No. It’s only ever about doing bloody cars up or some dire singer’s home. I like VH2, though.
24.What's something that really annoys you?
Stupid people.
25. What's something you really like?
Seeing another country for the first time. Snow. The love of a dog.
26.Do you like Michael Jackson?
No.
27.Can you dance?
Sort of.
28.What's the latest you have ever stayed up?
I’ve done all-nighters frequently with Chris. I miss the student life. :(
29.Have you ever thought that you were honestly going to die?
Yes, a few times. Once when I had an extremely bad asthma attack—my lips were blue, I could barely draw in any breath—the ambulance driver gave me a long lecture for not calling them sooner. Another time when I was swimming in the sea off a Greek island, only to be caught in very strong current. The water was too shallow for me to swim against the waves, and I couldn’t put my feet on the sea bed because the rocks were jagged and sharp. I was pulled under again and again and couldn’t believe the irony that I was going to die mere metres away from my family, who didn’t realise what was going on. Of course, I didn’t.
30.Have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into the emergency room?
Yes. The old asthma attack bit.
31. Do you actually read these when other people fill them out?
Yes, I do. I like memes where people have to think rather than just getting an automated answer on what kind of virus they’d be.
Does anyone know what on earth one does with a butternut squash? I bought one from ace Euro supermarket Lidl on a whim, but now I'm worried as to how I'm going to do anything for this scary monster of a vegetable...thing.
