It struck me today, whilst bristling at someone's calling me Rebecca *coughsaffronliecough* that I don't even know how my own name should be pronounced. I seem to pronounce it differently when asked to give it in formal situations (bank scariness, work scariness, anything scariness) because I rarely use all three awkward syllables and so I'm flummoxed at the strangeness of the name when giving my full title. I mean, it's hardly some really cool, offbeat name. It's fecking Rebecca, for God's sake.

And yet, I'm not sure if it's Ree-becca, Reh-becca or Reb-ecca. I asked my mum, and she said, "well, I always thought you suited Becky better, anyway." I need to stop asking her anything that's not a closed question.
