Wow, what a difference a day makes, dear flist. I was about to post a woe-is-me entry last night about the awfulness of the past few days. I had had it up to about *here* with work, with the bickering between colleagues, worries about money, my contract with work and, worst of all, the circuit breaker cut the electricity off last night, prompting a call from the electrician who concluded that our floorboards would have to be ripped up to work out the source of an earthed wire which had fecked up, or they might even have to re-wire the house. On top of that, the British skies were going for a world record; two weeks and three days of perpetual steel-grey skies with low cloud.
Frankly, I didn't spare you the boredom of such a post out of any sense of philanthropy; I was just too dispirited to post last night. I went to bed and couldn't be bothered keeping up with my reading. I just prayed for a break in all the hassle.
Well, today I arrived at work and told my colleagues that no, I very well was not okay, and life sucked. Boss pulled me up on a mistake which wasn't my fecking fault. Grew angreh. Then, this happened:
* Brother 'phoned and told me that the electrician had sorted out the problem; I wouldn't come home to a bedroom in chaos
* My boss hauled me into the office and demanded to know why I was worried about the contract-- of course she'll renew it at the end of February
* OMGWTF the sun!! The sun came out! The clouds gradually drifted away to reveal a gleaming blue sky, and when you're up on the eighth floor and live in Britain, it's a very, very big thing. Closed my eyes in delight for a few minutes and allowed the sunlight to wash over my pasty Anglo-celtic skin.
*Went to the cash machine and found that I hadn't spent as much as I had thought. Granted, it was only a difference of about £45, but it really cheered me up
* Finally, came home to find my brother's girlfriend had bought me a bottle of beer to go with some fecking lovely pasta
I played with the dogs in the garden for a little while, then watched the sun set in a dazzling array of flaming reds and gold I haven't seen for weeks. It's totally been a Mary Sue day; sickeningly perfect and lovely. Am very, very thankful for it. Oh, and excuse the icon. Inappropriate for such a post, but Franzing up a post is always a good thing.
ETA: And there are daffodil shoots in the garden! <3

As Bono sings..."some days are better than others..."
Glad all has gone groovily in your world! *toothy grin*
