I Think I'm a Banana Tree...

My book debt is mounting for the year already. I had determined to read at least one book a week, and thus far I have managed an amazing two books and one short story. Am beginning to feel the effect of this neglect rather severely. I tried to burn some funky music to a CD last night only to realise that my CD re-writer has forgotten what CDs feel like and refuses to acknowledge there is a CD in the damned drive. At about 1am, I punched the re-writer drive, so felt it best to retire.

My mind was still working actively, but I was too tired and generally annoyed to turn to some pretentious Sartre and attempted instead to sleep. Sleep was fitful; in one dream, a girl from my village who was killed in a car crash a couple of years ago was shouting at me from the top of a flight of stairs. I sneered at her and told her that she was going to be dead by 23, so she could shut the hell up. I believe this is where she came flailing at me, screaming and demanding to know what I was talking about. I woke up gasping in horror.

I then tried to return to sleep, but instead got to thinking about films. Specifically, The Ring. Spent an hour or so after that too scared to turn my back to the television. That'll teach me not to allow someone else's words to guide me to sleep. >:

Poor you. That nightmare you had sounded truly unsettling. I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight.

I've read three books so far this year but two of them were about David Bowie. That Virginia Woolf book I've been meaning to read for ages must be getting dusty by now!

God what a freakish and horrible dream. How awful.

I used to have ring moments except I'd usually make sure my back was to the tv because I'm a coward and I don't want to see if someones coming to kill me. It's the old "If I can't see it, it's not happening" line of thought.

Oh and you shouldn't punch computer stuff. Generally you get hurt while the unharmed piece of technology laughs at you and still refuses to work properly. *grumbles*
