Speaking of Lord of the Rings, I was in an MSN conversation a while back with nyalko80 and therealycats casually talking about various films.

A confession: I've never read the Lord of the Rings books.

*Shock! Horror!*

I just couldn't get into them. I tried, seriously, I did, but the prose style? Not for me. I mean, I recognise that they're very well-written, they have great attention to detail-- but I put the first book down halfway through, and never picked it up again, which is rare for me.

Anyhoo, I did love and appreciate the films. I loved Jackson's dark take on them, and was determined that, no matter what, I would see all of them and Avoid Spoilers at All Costs.

That was until my two friends said something like "oh boy, I can't wait for the third instalment, and to see how they do the bit where [Insert spoiler about Gollum's fate here].

Becky: AIEEEEE! No! You didn't just reveal to me the ending which I had up to this point known absolutely nothing about!

nyalko80 Um... you haven't read it?

Becky: NO! =:-o

therealycats Oh.

nyalko80 Erm...er...well, maybe we knew that, and we were making it up! You don't know for sure if that happens to Gollum.

Becky: *Cries* It so does! You're lying-- I can see it in your smiley's eyes.

Cute RotK. That bit with Gollum happens. Wow, I think, okay, so the second part of it happened, but at least he didn't do that chomping thing. Ha! In your face, spoiler gits.

And then it did happen. Pah!

Yep! I was watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike back, and before they cound finish the Fuck Fuck song, I was all over the "Fuckin' 80's Style" thing and felt Red needed a little change.

Have you seen that movie? It's at the very beginning, and it's the catchiest damn thing ever. Makes me happy for some odd reason. And little kids saying 'fuck' is just hilarious.

It's not a fine piece of cinematography or anything like that, but it has it's moments where you just can't stop laughing. And the Fuck song is one of 'em. I sing it when I'm angry and it cheers me up immediately.

And close is a long story! That's what my sisters say when they've said something incredibly stupid or pointless.

Don't Turn Around and All That She Wants have been playing on the radio station nonstop, and one of my LJ friends hooked me up with the entire album, which I used to own but sold long ago to a used CD store. So I've had the album going constantly the past few days.

I actually heard All That She Wants yesterday on the radio and about dumped my Chick*Fil*A waffle fries on the floor I was in such a frenzy trying to change it. lol That stuff gets stuck in your head for so damned long. I'm just glad I didn't lose any fries... those things are awesome.

I nearly cut the top of my finger off today, isn't that cool? By the grace of God it didn't even break the skin, but it cut right through my fingernail. It's now super glued together until it grows out.

I love Pampered Chef kitchen knives. So sharp.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww. Fingernails coming apart is the worst. When I was younger and had just started in toe shoes, both of my big toenails ended up falling off because of the pressure they put on my feet. Nasty stuff, that.
