Just when you thought Tom Cruise couldn't get any more cheesy, he proposes to Katie Holmes at the top of the Eiffel Tower. And then raves about this wonderfully unique gesture that totally doesn't appear in tacky programmes *coughHollyoakscough* and Jackie Collins novels every five minutes.

He should also perhaps consider learning some more adjectives:

"Today is a magnificent day for me," he said, "I'm engaged to a magnificent woman."

It's Oprah fromage all over again, but now the European media is saturated with it. Gee, thanks, Tom.

You hear that Tom was sending gifts and stuff to Jennifer Garner first, and she had to tell him that she was with Ben and to back the hell off, so he went to arm-candy plan B, Katie Holmes?
